Classic Freecell Solitaire

How to play Freecell

Freecell Solitaire is a version of solitaire that offers a fun twist. Your goal is to build up the four foundations from Ace to King by suit. In this version of solitaire, there are 8 columns at the bottom of the screen that have all cards dealt face up. Seeing all of the cards allows for strategy and excitement! The twist is that there are four "free cells" at the top left of the screen where you can move cards to free up space until they are able to be used.

Freecell Set up

All 52 cards are dealt into 8 columns, facing up. The last card in each column is highlighted to show it is in play. These cards make up the tableau. Four "free cells" are located at the top left of the screen to hold cards. Four foundations are at the top right of the screen where you will lay cards Ace to King by suit.

Game Play

Locate Aces in the tableau and move as many as possible to the fountains at the top right. Cards can be moved back and forth between the columns in the tableau, but may only be placed on top of another card alternating by color. (Red must be placed on black and vice versa) Cards can be organized in a series, for example, Black 7 can be followed by red 6, black 5, red 4, etc. That series of cards can also be moved as a unit between columns in order to free up cards underneath. You may also utilize the free cell spaces at the top left as a holding space for cards that are in the way.

Cards can be moved back and forth from the tableau to the free spaces an unlimited number of times.

Winning Freecell

When you have successfully arranged cards in the foundations from Ace to King by suit, you win!
